Larry started his career on the radio 33 years ago, in Cleveland Ohio in 1988. After a few radio stations in Ohio, it was time for sunshine and beaches.

Larry started his Florida radio career in Melbourne at WMEL in 1992. Then in January of 1997 Larry made the move to WAIA where Larry starred as a member of the Morning Show before making the jump to nights. His highly rated night show is where Larry McKay made a name for himself. Larry was named Music Director and then Program Director, eventually moving to afternoons. Larry was also the Program Director and afternoon host on Pirate 95.9 in Melbourne for a few years.

Opportunity knocked in 2014 down the road in Stuart, FL at legendary 101.3 The Coast where Larry became the Program Director and hosted mornings for 7 years.

In the summer of 2021, the station changed owners and format, so Larry decided it was time to return home to the Space Coast. He’ll be entertaining Space Coast listeners on the way to work as the morning show host on Brevard County’s #1-rated radio station WSBH-FM 98.5 The Beach, beginning Monday, September 20, 2021. Larry says it’s good to be home!

WSBH is the only radio station in Brevard County with three live and local shows:“McKay in the Morning,” “Super Dave” in Mid-days, and “Michael W. Lowe in the Afternoon”
